There's no Impossible on a family that prays together!

The Impossible (SpanishLo Imposible) is a 2012 English-language Spanish disaster drama directed by Juan Antonio Bayona and written by Sergio G. Sánchez. It is based on María Belón's and her family's experience of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

English physician Maria Bennet, Henry and their sons Lucas, Thomas and Simon were on Christmas Holiday in Khao Lak, Thailand in 2004. The tsunami triggered by that year's Indian Ocean Earthquake flooded the area with overwhelming destructive power. Elsewhere, Henry, Thomas and Simon have survived the tsunami themselves together although the father was injured. Henry placed the children into a vehicle supposed to take tourists to a safe place while he remained behind to search for Maria and Lucas. Ultimately further injured while failing to find them he arrived at the evacuation point only to discover that Thomas and Simon have been sent elsewhere. Communication facilities were scarce but a tourist named Karl who was also separated from his family by the tsunami lent Henry his cellphone to contact his relatives to accompany Henry to look for Maria and Lucas. Henry and Karl searched for their families in various places before they arrived at the hospital where Maria and Lucas are. The vehicle carrying Thomas and Simon stopped outside the hospital; the family eventually reunited. Maria has surgery which she survived, and the following day the family boarded an ambulance airplane to Singapore arranged by their insurance company for Maria's further treatment.

I just want to share how tragic and lucky their family is through the plot above.

So it is true that accidents and disasters happens randomly. No one can predicts it, it just happens. This movie shows how a prayer works and how effective it is. As I watched the movie, I realized that among other disaster preparedness, prayer is the most effective. Trust and hope is another recipe one must have to survive. Just like Lucas whose hope for seeing his family. He never gives up, instead he does help others in finding their family on his young age. Very kind and brave. He felt jealous, of course and I can't blame him.  Like Lucas, is his father full of strength and hope to find his wife and son even though he is badly injured. He is too strong not to give up. I really adore Maria who fights against the bloody pain she experienced. She keeps on fighting for his son who's with her and for his lost family out there. Over all, I can say that their family is still blessed beside on what happened to their suppose to be vacation. Maria's family proved to us that a family that consists of strong walls plus trust, hope and prayer-the most powerful, there is nothing on this world that is impossible!
