Ronnie Ricketts and his advocacies

As the Optical Media Board Chairman, Ronnie Ricketts’ campaign is to eliminate the vast growing Media Piracy. But other than playing his role as the OBM chairman, He is also an advocate of anti-drug, anti-smoke, anti-smut and natural family planning campaigns. He was once offered P 3.5 million to do a commercial for a cigarette company, but the actor refused to do so, knowing that the product will not be beneficial for one’s health. Because of this exceptional act, the World Health organization recognized him as a staunch advocate of anti-smoking back in 2004.

The Philippine’s very own Ronnie Ricketts also had his afflictions eclipsed by the death of his brother “topher” way back 2010 caused by cancer. That paved his way on becoming a spokesperson for the Philippine Cancer Society. He’s been inspiring youth for years now, knowing the needs of cancer patients and the people around them.
