CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER

Christmas in September”

 Christmas and September

The Philippines actually has one of the longest Christmas seasons. It starts on September. As early as September, you will already hear Christmas carols being sung on the radio and on TV. Decors are already starting to sprout up or sold for the buyers who are starting to shop around for Christmas. That’s why our group chose Pre-Christmas movies for this week.

What's the story?

Kevin McAllister already got left Home Alone one Christmas; now he's on the wrong plane and headed to New York City while his family jets off to Miami for the holiday. Kevin (Macaulay Culkin), once again happy to be free of his boisterous family, sets out on an adventure in the big city. His father's credit card rents him a suite at the Plaza Hotel. Slapstick moments are provided by run-ins with the original movie's goofball villains, Harry and Marv (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, respectively). The duo has escaped from prison and is planning to rob a toy store on Christmas Eve -- and Kevin's determined to stop them. Finally, Mom (Catherine O'Hara) realizes that her son's missing and frantically tries to find him.
Review

Let me tell you the negative and the positive side of the movie. The negative feedback is, through this movie, children might be opened in violence. Children who watch this movie will think that setting traps is good because it’s so funny as the movie shown. So parents, watch out your children.

On the other hand, the movie shown a good example of Christmas, family is important. In the movie, Kevin reached Marley and gave her advice to reconcile with her son and also, when Kate never give-up just to see his son safe with her arms. Over all, the movie is funny yet full of message

In relation to Filipino Christmas celebration culture…

Filipinos are creative and resourceful

-          In the movie Kevin used recycled things to make traps for the two criminals. Same way, Filipinos are very creative and resourceful. They used many materials in making decorations.

Filipino is always happy in spite of difficulties

-We all know that Philippines is one of the third world countries in the world, yet you will noticed there still food in the table during Christmas.

Filipinos are family oriented and has a closed family ties culture

-When Kate persistently find his son, we can relate it in Filipino Culture were in during Christmas, being complete in “noche buena” is a big deal to Filipinos. Most of us go to our province to enjoy the season together with our family. And that the Spirit of Christmas. For Nobody wants to be alone in this Christmas. Cherish the moments with your loved ones.

So, from my deepest part of my heart I greet you all Merry, Merry Christmas.!
